Active Travel England (ATE), which sprang into action in August 2022, has one key objective: ensuring that 50% of trips in our towns and cities are walked, wheeled or by cycled by 2030.
In September, Active Travel England will invite bids from local authorities for around £500m of grant funding to support both capital and revenue schemes nationwide across a multi-year settlement period 2022/23 to 2024/25.
Working with Active Travel England, Walking + Cycling Innovations 2022 will showcase the products and services that are helping successful local authorities to deliver schemes on the ground.
The programme will include presentations, case studies and demonstrations in the following areas:
Consultancies and design experts working on active travel infrastructure, design and engineering
Businesses, entrepreneurs and starts-ups providing toolkits, data and analytics to help shape active transport policy
Innovative local and transport authorities with vision and fresh ideas to showcase
Behaviour change and communications pioneers with ideas about embedding community support
