This third annual event, hosted by Lambeth Council, brings together over 200 delegates to discuss the growing movement of School Streets and explore how local authorities can harness the power of these initiatives to benefit students, communities, and the environment.
School Streets are transforming the school run. As demand for these schemes continue to rise Active Travel England and the Department for Transport have released new guidance to help councils deliver effective School Street programs.
This third annual event, hosted by Lambeth Council, brings together over 200 delegates to discuss the growing movement of School Streets and explore how local authorities can harness the power of these initiatives to benefit students, communities, and the environment.
With over 180 School Streets funded through the Government’s Active Travel Fund and more on the horizon, the research shows significant benefits: increased active travel, community support, and minimal disruption to local traffic. This event will present the latest evidence, insights, and practical advice for those embarking on their own School Street projects.
Join experts, local authorities, suppliers, and community advocates to dive into the latest findings on School Streets, and explore the future of active travel from home to school. Discussions will cover the latest research, best practices in implementation and enforcement, securing funding, and managing the balance between incentives and regulation.
The panels will discuss issues including:
Funding

Technology
Health and wellbeing
