Yellow school buses aren’t intended to cut walk and cycling trips to school

There’s room for yellow school buses, walking and cycling to all play their part in the school transport mix, says David Blunkett, chair of First Group’s Yellow School Bus Commission.

I write with reference to the recent letter about yellow school buses from Paul Osborne of Sustrans (Letters LTT?19 Sep).

The Yellow School Bus Commission year-long review considered the whole issue of travel habits very carefully. We took on board the views of children and parents, and recognised the obvious difference between the US and Britain.
