The preferred bidder to design, build and maintain the next phase of the Manchester Metrolink system was expected to be named just after LTT closed for press.
Three bidders were invited to submit best and final offers for Metrolink Phase 3A comprising:
* converting the existing railway from Manchester Dean Lane to Oldham and Rochdale to Metrolink operation
* the East Manchester line to Droylsden
* the airport line as far as Chorlton
