The UK’s first tram-train vehicle should arrive in the country this week for eventual use in a two-year trial of the technology between Sheffield and Rotherham.
The 37-metre long vehicle, designated a Class 399, has been outshopped from Vossloh’s works in Valencia, Spain, and is due to arrive at Southampton Docks on 28 November. It will then be transported by road to South Yorkshire, where it should arrive on 1 December.
