Manchester City Council has drawn up a three-tier hierarchy of roads for the purposes of allocating its road maintenance budget.
Top priority will be given to roads that form part of Greater Manchester’s new Key Route Network and second priority will be given to a ‘community network’ of roads.
Manchester has 1,334km of roads, 2,668km of footways, and 365 bridges and other structures on the road network.
