Capacity on the Metrolink light rail system across Manchester city centre has been boosted with the opening of the second city crossing last weekend. The 1.3km piece of track runs from a transformed Deansgate-Castlefield stop to a major new stop at St Peter’s Square, then along Cross Street to stops at Exchange Square and Victoria.
