Bus operators’ reimbursement for taking part in the Welsh Government’s free concessionary travel scheme has been reduced by 0.9% for 2017/18.
The reimbursement rate has been pegged to the bus industry’s own cost index, rather than average fares, in recent years. A Government spokesman said: “The Confederation of Passenger Transport’s own cost index for Wales shows a 0.9% fall in the industry’s costs.”
