The five Tyne and Wear districts are to reduce their support for Nexus, the Passenger Transport Executive, by £1.2m next year, the fourth successive year of cuts. But the PTEsays services will be protected, partly by the use of reserves.
The seven local authority members of the North East Combined Authority will provide £83.6m to cover the revenue costs of transport in 2018/19, a reduction of £1.1m on this year.
