Luton Borough Council and its airport London Luton Airport Ltd (LLAL) are facing huge financial pressures caused by the collapse of air travel during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The council owns 100 per cent of the shares in the airport and normally receives a substantial dividend payment that helps pay for council services.
