Croydon set to reinstate LTN but with multiple exemptions

Councillors on the London Borough of Croydon have endorsed the idea of reinstating a low traffic neighbourhood (LTN) scheme but this time with camera enforcement, rather than physical barriers, and a large number of exemptions. 

The South Norwood and Crystal Palace LTN was implemented last year and featured a bus gate and road closures enforced by physical barriers. 

The restrictions caused huge controversy, with campaign group Open our Roads blaming the LTN for worsening congestion...
