A new canal bridge has been installed as part of the £56m revamp of University Station in Birmingham. It spans the Worcester & Birmingham Canal and will link the new station to the University of Birmingham campus.
The new building will replace the existing 1970s station, which serves not only the university but also the busy Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The building will offer enhanced passenger facilities along with greater capacity and comfort and even space for an NHS facility.
