Inquiry into Humber Bridge toll rise as councils step up campaign for cut

North Lincolnshire Council this week welcomed the Government’s announcement of a public inquiry into plans to increase tolls on the Humber Bridge but said it would keep up its campaign to see the tolls scrapped or reduced.

The inquiry will consider the Humber Bridge Board’s application to raise tolls from £2.70 to £2.90 for a car and £18.30 to £19.90 for a heavy goods vehicle over 7.5 tonnes.
