Transport Scotland is inviting tenders to build the A75 Cairntop to Barlae improvement scheme. The work comprises the addition of a 2.3km eastbound lane to provide overtaking opportunities. Construction could start next year and take 12 months to complete. The Cairntop to Barlae scheme forms part of a series of improvements to the 159km A75 route between Gretna, at its junction with the A74(M), and Stranraer.
