‘SMART’ bus ticketing in the south-west of England has moved a step closer with the launch of a local authority/bus industry ‘not for profit’ company to deliver the systems.
South West Smart Applications Ltd (SWSAL) has set a target of establishing 12 smart ticketing systems in the region by next December.
Transport minister Norman Baker visited Exeter last week to mark the launch of the regional back office system (HOPS) to manage smart ticketing schemes.
