Mersey Gateway objections swept aside

Plans for a new tolled road crossing over the Mersey estuary have been given the green light.

Ministers have approved Halton Borough Council’s planning application for the proposed Mersey Gateway Bridge scheme and associated connecting roads, together with plans to toll the bridge and introduce tolls on the existing Silver Jubilee Bridge.
