Mobile ticketing without NFC rolled out with new Chiltern Railways app

Britain’s first comprehensive rail ticketing system using the mobile phone has been launched using barcode and ticket image representations. It is set to be the UK standard.

Chiltern Railways has launched a pioneering new approach to mobile phone ticketing with an integrated system that enables passengers to buy, instantly receive and validate tickets by barcode through an app on their mobile phone.
