Edinburgh tram chopped again

Councillors in Edinburgh this week chopped back the city’s troubled first tram line after refusing to borrow more than £200m to complete the route to the city centre.

The city’s opposition Labour and Conservative councillors successfully tabled a motion that the line should run from the airport to Haymarket railway station, west of the central area.
