Greengauge 21 has made a most welcome contribution to the high-speed rail debate by suggesting that HS2 should serve Stratford rather than Old Oak Common. As its suggestion to connect the West Coast Main Line (WCML) to Crossrail emerged from a Network Rail Route Utilisation Strategy, it has a very good chance of being implemented.

Greengauge 21 suggests that the HS2 trains which feed into HS1 to serve Stratford should make use of the WCML slow lines from Willesden towards Euston. But it has not...
