Expressions of interest closed this week for Sunderland City Council’s proposed contract for a new road bridge over the River Wear and associated works. The Sunderland Strategic Transport Corridor project aims to link up major regeneration sites in the city. The scheme is one of the 45 in the DfT’s development pool. The council says the expected value of the capital contract for the work is £80m-£110m.
