West Lothian Council is to run a ‘kickstart’ fund to encourage new commercial bus services.
The council is setting aside £100,000 in 2012/13-2013/14 for a Bus Route Development Challenge Fund to support services that have a strong likelihood of becoming commercial operations in the longer-term.
Operators will have to commit to funding the services for at least one year after the challenge funding expires.
