The London Borough of Richmond is abandoning the use of camera cars to enforce parking contraventions, saying their use is not in the spirit of the council’s new ‘fair parking’ policy.
Richmond introduced two camera cars in 2009 but they are currently off the road after the borough was forced to repay up to £1m collected in penalty charge notices because the cars were not properly certified.
