Waiting for the green light on moving traffic enforcement

Local authorities across England and Wales are keen to adopt the moving traffic powers already in use in London

Cities Across England and Wales are actively seeking powers from the government equal to those available to London councils to enable them to enforce penalties, which at present can only be issued by the police outside the capital. The Local Government Association (LGA) has been pressing the Department for Transport (DfT) to extend moving traffic contravention nationwide. There are signals that the government is willing to activate powers that already sit on the statutue book.
