Insurers reject mobile using drivers

Car insurance firms are increasingly refusing to cover motorists caught using their mobile phones at the wheel, research from the AA reveals.

The study found that three out of eight insurers would not even offer a quote to a mobile phone offender while other insurers increased premiums by an average of 20%. That rate for those caught speeding is 10%, despite the two offences attracting the same fine and three points on a driving licence.
