Building new roads will relieve existing bottlenecks

It isn’t, as Philip Shelton writes, a “claim” that most road transport is parked up most of the time but a simple fact (Letters LTT 23 Nov).

The point I make is that it is incorrect to cite road building as a cause of increased traffic to excuse a reluctance to build new roads (Letters LTT 09 Nov). We can now ignore that and build as many roads as we like because there simply isn’t a surplus of drivers to fill them up any more.
