An orbital railway round London has been completed with the opening of the final section of track in South London.
The 1.3km link, costing £75m, connects the East London Line near Surrey Quays station with Queen’s Road Peckham, enabling London Overground to run trains clockwise between Highbury and Islington in North London and Clapham Junction in South London. The end-to-end journey time is 50 minutes and trains operate every 15 minutes.
