Buses are a vital element of the transport infrastructure of many cities across the UK. Many now feature dedicated bus lanes and measures such as bus gates to give these public transport vehicles priority at peak hours. However, setting aside road space for buses only makes sense if other road users can be discouraged from entering them. This means there is a need for effective and accurate enforcement to prevent unauthorised traffic driving, parking and loading/unloading in bus lanes.
