Pedestrians and cyclists are still an afterthought in urban transport policy

Jonathan Smith is missing one very important point (Letters LTT 16 May). If a cyclist collides with a pedestrian, or vice-versa, the outcome rarely includes death on either side. This applies even when the cyclist and the pedestrian share a path, whether legally or not.
