Leicestershire County Council has abandoned a plan to outsource its highways maintenance service.
Conservative-controlled Leicestershire launched a procurement last December with an industry day for highways maintenance firms but halted the procurement process after the county’s director of environment and transport, Matthew Lugg, left the council in May to take up a post at infrastructure services firm Mouchel (LTT 19 Apr).
