John Henkel has been appointed interim director general of Metro, the West Yorkshire PTE, following the retirement of Kieran Preston (LTT 19 Dec 13). Henkel has been Metro’s director of passenger services since 2001. The recruitment process for an executive director of transport for the new West Yorkshire Combined Authority will commence shortly.
