Victims of rogue clampers refunded

Motorists threatened by a clamping firm into handing over hundreds of pounds will get most of their money back. Six staff at Midland Parking Contracts were given prison sentences in February 2012 for conspiracy to defraud (PR March 2012).

A three-year investigation by West Mercia Police recovered £121,262 of the profit made by the firm. It will now be shared between the 480 victims who paid up to £335 to have their vehicles unclamped or pay for tow trucks. The police said victims...
