Steven Longman has joined consultant Mott MacDonald as a transport planner from SYSTRA Ltd where he was a consultant.

Former CTC chief executive Gordon Seabright takes up his new post as director of the Eden project this month.

Three legal specialists in transport and other infrastructure are rejoining Bircham Dyson Bell from Pinsent Masons. Ian Cameron, Sarah Clark and Tom Henderson followed former partner Robbie Owen from BDB to Pinsent Masons last August. They will rejoin BDB this summer as legal directors in the government & infrastructure department. 

Former Labour transport minister Gillian Merron is standing down as chair of Bus Users UK to become chief executive of the board of deputies of British Jews.

Steve Murphy is to join public transport operator MTR Corporation in August as chief operating officer – European business, reporting to Jeremy Long, chief executive officer – European business. Murphy was previously chief operating officer of Arriva’s UK Rail division and managing director of the London Overground concession (co-owned by MTR and Arriva) from start-up in 2007 to 2012.

David Strahan has been appointed group chief executive of Northern Ireland’s state-owned public transport operator Translink. Strahan start date has yet to be confirmed. He is currently chief executive of Dee Valley Group plc, whose main activity is the supply of drinking water in north-east Wales and north-west England.
