Councils in England have won their campaign to continue using CCTV camera enforcement for parking restrictions outside schools, in bus lanes, at bus stops, and on red routes. 

The Government had originally proposed an outright ban on using CCTV enforcement for parking offences. But a joint statement issued this week by the DfT and the Department for Communities and Local Government says camera enforcement will be banned in all but the following circumstances:
