"The Smarter Travel Awards are an exciting opportunity to recognise the hard work and dedication of people on the frontline of smarter choices delivery and to showcase those individuals and teams that are leading innovation in travel behaviour change." Nicola Kane, Transport Strategy Manager, Transport for Greater Manchester
"I am looking forward to seeing case studies where smarter travel isn’t just about changing the journey but getting people more active so that their journey is something that makes them healthier and happier." Adrian Lord, Associate, Steer Davies Gleave

There are some great things happening in the world of sustainable travel and shared mobility. Sure, there are some dismal ones too, which is all the more reason why we need the Smarter Travel Awards to illuminate the path to progress and positive outcomes.

The Judging Panel has now been appointed - they come from all walks of life: local government; consultancy; academia; and the private sector. Without exception, they have direct experience of the practicalities of delivering smarter travel.

Their specialist knowledge and expertise ranges from marketing to apps, car clubs to travel plans, behaviour change programmes to bike hire, and evaluation techniques to cycling infrastructure. And they are looking forward to reading your awards entries.

Nominations welcome

Anyone can nominate an organisation or project for the Smarter Travel Awards 2015, so please don’t be shy: a consultancy can nominate their client's project, and a marketing company can propose their own campaign. The Judges Panel will consider authenticity, impact, evidence and replicability.

Entry is free

Deadline for entries

We have extended the deadline by a week to Friday 12 December as we recognise that many of you are balancing demands in the end of year, pre-Christmas crush. When the event programme was being prepared, the call for papers prompted more than 150 submissions – so we know that interest is high. Now there's a little more time, you can figure out which is the best award to go for and refine your entry. And remember: nothing ventured, nothing gained – if you don't enter, it is certain that you will not win!
