The lunatics are certainly in charge of Birmingham's transport asylum. I refer to the article ‘Birmingham studies feasibility of demolishing 1960s A road’ (LTT 14 Nov). 

The A38 ‘barrier to movement’ nonsense started under the previous Lib Dem-Conservative administration’s ‘Big City Plan’. As an arterial route, the A38 is a huge facilitator of movement – most of the thousands of vehicles that use it every day aren’t actually travelling...
