Suffolk draws up plans for A12 village bypasses

Suffolk County Council is developing plans for a 4.5-mile bypass of four villages on the A12 north of Ipswich. 

The so-called ‘Four Village Bypass’ would remove traffic from the villages of Marlesford, Little Glemham, Stratford St Andrew and Farnham. Suffolk says that there is an opportunity for the bypass to be part-funded by EDF Energy, to support construction traffic for the firm’s proposed new nuclear power station at Sizewell (Sizewell C).
