The Government’s high-speed rail plans for Birmingham are sub-optimal for the city and the wider West Midlands, according to think-tank the Independent Transport Commission (ITC).

In a new report on the plans for  stations on the network, the ITC says Birmingham and the West Midlands have “significant challenges to overcome” to integrate HS2 with local and regional transport networks.
