Devon County Council is consulting on plans to improve the A30 through the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
The council proposes a new wide three-lane carriageway to replace a five-mile section of the single carriageway between the A30/A303 junction and the Honiton Bypass. The number of lanes in each direction would alternate to allow overtaking.
