HS2, HS3, Crossrail 2... Britain needs to get building

In the Queen’s Speech the only surviving announcement of intended legislation for a major transport expenditure project was the High Speed Rail (West Midlands-Crewe) Bill – in other words just Phase 2a of the HS2 project. There were no references to schemes for the Northern Powerhouse or the Midlands Engine and HS2 Phase 2b, Crossrail 2, and even the expansion of Heathrow Airport with its western and southern rail connections gained not a mention.
