Sticking to 20 is good for all road users – including drivers

I would like to respond to the letters about 20mph limits of Messrs Walker and Withrington (LTT 7 Jul).

Mr Walker points out that it would take 15 years for the greater proportion of vehicles to be equipped, as manufactured, with speed limiters, and that many foreign vehicles will never be equipped. He would be right to be concerned on that point, was it not for the fact that I’m not in that much of a hurry.
