Lobbying group the Campaign for Better Transport has published what it terms a “manifesto” that calls for drivers who are prepared to give up their cars to be issued by what would effectively be a free bus pass by the Government. The CBT says the idea could reverse the long-term trend of declining bus use and help take polluting vehicles off the streets.
