The city of Edinburgh Council is to cut the speed limit on more than 20 main roads from 40 to 30mph, and explore the possibility of cutting the limit on remaining 30mph roads to 20.
Councillors have approved the start of statutory processes for Traffic Regulation Orders to reduce 40mph limits to 30mph on 25 roads, mainly in the outer west/southwest and east of the city.
