Speed cameras introduced on M4 in Wiltshire

26 April 2006

The Wiltshire and Swindon Safety Camera Partnership has begun a speed limit enforcement campaign at seven sites along the 53km stretch of the M4 motorway that runs through the partnership's jurisdiction.

Mobile cameras will monitor speeds from motorway overbridges. The partnership has not revealed the threshold at which the cameras will be set but if Association of Chief Police Officer guidelines were applied then motorists driving over 79mph would be penalised.
