FirstGroup has appointed Graham Sutherland as chief executive. He will join from telecommunications business KCOM Group where he was chief executive, and has also held senior roles with BT, NTL Ireland and Bombardier. Sutherland, who will take up the post in 16 May, succeeds Matthew Gregory, who stepped down in September 2021 after delivering the group’s rationalisation strategy that saw it exit the North American market.
