Work is underway to transform a busy main road in Stratford, east London, into a ‘green zone’ that will encourage more people to walk and cycle. The £12m Westfield Avenue project will feature wider pavements, a segregated cycle track, extra cycle stands, improvements to crossings, 60 new trees, 31 rain gardens and 15 planting beds.
