London City Airport’s application to increase capacity from 6.5 million to 9 million passengers a year has been approved by Transport Secretary Louise Haigh and Housing, Communities and Local Government Secretary Angela Rayner.

The rise in passengers will be made possible by more flights from 6am to 9am, on the condition that quieter aircraft are used during this time.
