National Highways concludes that the scheme has supported a larger shift than anticipated in traffic to the new A14 Huntingdon bypass from Huntingdon and the A1307 (the former A14). There were almost 55,000 fewer daily vehicle movements through Huntingdon as a result of the scheme (2022 compared to 2016), and the new bypass was carrying more traffic than the old A14, with a greater number and proportion of HGVs).
