Hopes that Grimsby multi-storey car park artwork can be saved

North East Lincolnshire Council’s is working to find a way to preserve an artwork on a multi-storey car park facing demolition.

The council’s cabinet has agreed to proceed with the demolition of the Abbey Walk car park and replace it with a ground-level facility.

The car park in Grimsby incorporates four concrete reliefs by sculptor Harold Gosney. The reliefs depict parts of a car and were installed when the building was constructed in 1969.
