Luton drivers warned of QR code parking scam

Drivers in Luton are being warned of a scam featuring fake QR codes stuck on pay & display ticket machines in the Bedfordshire town's car parks.

Luton Council said the notices claimed the machines were out of order and directed drivers to pay by scanning the QR (quick response) code.

Posting on social media, the council warned drivers: “Please be vigilant of a QR code scam on pay and display machines. Do not scan the code if you see one of these stickers in our car parks.”
