Reading Borough Council has apologise after discovering it issued thousands of incorrect parking fines to motorists over an 11-year period.
The errors in the various Traffic Regulation Orders came to light when a member of staff reported to their service manager a defect on the East Reading Red Route.
A wider investigation was then launched to review whether there were further issues with TROs and a small number were found to be incorrect.
